Privacy Policy

In short: Lessli is built privacy-first. Your pantry, plan, and history are stored on your iPhone. Apple Health data is used only to personalize your plan — it is never sold and never used for advertising. You can export or delete your data at any time.

This Privacy Policy explains how Lessli ("Lessli," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Lessli mobile application (the "App") and this website (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

We practice data minimization and store as much as possible on your device. Depending on how you use the App, we may process:

  • Profile & goals you provide: body metrics (such as height, weight, and goal), schedule, equipment, dietary preferences, and any limits you choose to share. This is used to build your plan.
  • Pantry & meal inputs: photos of grocery receipts and your fridge, barcodes, and manually added items. Images are processed to extract food items and are not used to identify you.
  • Apple Health data (optional): with your explicit permission, we read data such as weight, steps, and active energy to personalize your plan. You can revoke this in the Health app at any time.
  • Usage & diagnostics: limited, aggregated technical data to keep the App stable and improve it. Where required, this is optional and consent-based.
  • Contact data: if you email us or use a form on this website, we receive your email address, any name you provide, and your message.

2. How your data is stored

Lessli is local-first. Your pantry, daily plan, completion history, and weight history are stored on your device. We do not require you to create an account to use the App, and we do not store your health history on our servers.

3. AI processing

To generate coaching, meal suggestions, and to read your pantry photos, the App sends de-identified, structured context (for example, body metrics, goals, and pantry items — not your name or contact details) to a third-party AI provider that acts as our processor. We minimize what is sent, do not send data we don't need, and do not use this data to build advertising profiles. Images you submit for pantry scanning are processed to extract items and are not retained for advertising.

4. Apple Health (HealthKit)

Health data accessed through HealthKit is used only to provide and personalize the in-app coaching features you ask for. We never use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing, never sell it, and never share it with data brokers. HealthKit data is not stored in iCloud by us, and access is never a condition of any purchase. You can grant or revoke specific permissions in the Apple Health app.

5. Subscriptions & payments

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details. Apple shares limited transaction information with us to manage your subscription entitlement. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles payment data.

6. Notifications, camera & permissions

With your permission, we use the camera to scan receipts, your fridge, and barcodes, and we send push notifications to surface your next live goal or recommendation. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings at any time.

7. How we use information

  • To provide, personalize, and improve your coaching plan and meal suggestions.
  • To keep the Services secure, stable, and functioning.
  • To respond to your messages and support requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

8. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf (such as the AI provider and infrastructure providers) under contractual obligations, or where required by law. These providers may process data in countries outside your own; where applicable we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because most data is stored on your device, you can delete it directly by removing it in the App or deleting the App. For website contact data or any other request, email privacy@lessli.app and we will respond as required by law.

10. Data retention

On-device data remains until you delete it or remove the App. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and meet legal obligations.

11. Children

Lessli is not directed to children. The Services are intended for users aged 16 and over (or the age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

12. Health disclaimer

Lessli provides wellness and nutrition guidance for educational purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Results vary. Consult a healthcare professional before starting any weight-loss program.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated within the App where appropriate.
